At Shrewsbury Muslim Centre, supporting charitable causes is a key part of our community’s values. We continue to raise funds for important humanitarian projects such as aid for Gaza, educational support through initiatives like Iqra (providing books for disadvantaged children), housing for those in need, and healthcare initiatives including cancer treatment facilities abroad. UK-registered charities interested in appealing for donations are welcome to contact us to request a slot in our organised donation rota.
We actively welcome visits from schools, clubs, and community groups who would like to learn more about Islam and the role of the Muslim community in Shrewsbury. These visits can be tailored for different age groups and interests, and we’re happy to arrange internal visits and educational workshops on request
The Centre has hosted a wide range of guests including West Mercia Police, Members of Parliament, local councillors, the Shrewsbury Interfaith Group, and Shropshire Football Association. We continue to build relationships across the wider community through these positive interactions.
Our children’s madrasa runs periodically and focuses on teaching correct Qur’anic recitation and Islamic knowledge in a nurturing environment. The programme is overseen by our DBS and CRB Checked Imam. Please get in touch for the latest information about sessions.
Adult education is also a priority at the Centre, and we regularly host talks and events featuring respected Islamic scholars from across the UK. We aim to expand these sessions further, including inviting international speakers, insha’Allah.
If you would like to arrange a visit, collaborate, or learn more about our activities, please contact Shrewsbury Muslim Centre directly.
